1.1 Learning Objectives

This lab will introduce you to the two programs we will use this term, R Commander and SPSS. After completing this lab, you will

• Be able to access R Commander and SPSS through your virtual machine
• Understand when and how R and SPSS are used for data analysis by psychology students and researchers
• Know how to import data into R Commander and SPSS
  • R Commander: CSV files, data in R packages
  • SPSS: CSV files

There is no assignment for this lab; however, it is critical that you complete the lab activities so that you have the software and skills needed for future labs.
